Anita Rice knows all about the challenges faced by small business. She ran her own cleaning business before taking over the administration of her husband’s building company.
After relocating to Perth, Anita took up the position of Administration Manager with Media Support Services, one of Australia’s top newsletter and direct marketing companies. This role enabled Anita to broaden her areas of expertise by drawing on her prior small business experience, multi-tasking capabilities and her ability to pick up and run with new projects.
Her role at Media Support Services included bookkeeping tasks such as reconciling bank accounts, accounts payable and receivable work, payroll procedures, time sheet analysis, preparing financial reports and company performance forecasts, lodging BAS statements and liaising with the company accountant to prepare FBT and end of year financial reports.
But her role went a lot further. Anita was also involved in client liaison, the costing of projects and the co-ordination of direct marketing activities undertaken by the company.
